FAQ

Your prices are so competitive, how are you able pass this on?

Our guitars are made by some of the leading luthiers in the world. Because of the large volume of customers we serve, our factory is able to make your tailor-made guitar and components more cost-effectively and our suppliers are able to offer us large volume discounts on high-quality custom components and parts. We are then able to remove much of the retail markup (which often comprises up to 50% of the cost of the guitar) and pass on more savings to you by teaching you to assemble the guitar yourself.

Can I upgrade components?

Our factory manufactures the full range of components and parts on our guitar kits to our exacting specifications, thereby allowing us to offer the highest quality parts. Although we currently offer an ever growing range of upgrade options, our kits are built to provide the same basic range of standard manufacturers' parts as that which the leading branded companies supply in their products. If there is something special you want, simply contact us and we will try our best to provide it for you. Alternatively, many of our customers simply buy what they want from other trusted suppliers and swap out our corresponding parts.

How customized can we make our guitars?

Obviously, there is a limit, but you can mix and match any of our many customizable features to create a totally unique creation or, keep it simple and choose from our selection of popular standard models available. It's entirely up to you.

What if I have a unique design or feature request?

We have tried to offer the most popular styles, parts and finishes for you to select from. However, we can accommodate most requests regarding color, finish and custom decals or art. Just send us a message in the "Contact Us" link with as much detail as possible and we'll respond within 48 hours with a no obligation quote.

Assembling a guitar must be for experts? Can anyone do it?

When you boil it down, building a guitar is actually pretty easy. Sure, we handle some of the more difficult parts like shaping and finishing the body and headstock, but once that's done, what remains is merely to connect the neck and body, install the hardware and wire up the electronics. We have consulted our team of seasoned guitar techs to help us put together a simple, easy and intuitive series of lessons that walk you step by step through the process. Plus, once you have mastered these basic skills, you can pretty much build and fix almost any electric guitar any time you want. Where else can you get that?

Soldering scares the bejezus out of me? Do I need to learn how to do it?

Well, lots of customers ask us this question because soldering seems daunting and down-right scary. The truth is, it is not and based on our curriculum, a second-grader can learn how to do it. That said, in order to support all skill and confidence levels, we do offer pre-wired electronics options and welcome you to feel free to reach out to us at any time with questions or for guidance to dissipate any worries you may have.
